Conquer Your Triggers Workshop

Your past keeps hijacking your present because your brain can't out logic your trauma triggers

No matter how hard it tries.

When you're triggered, your logic mind says you're "overreacting."

But emotionally, you feel out of control.

You're pulled in two directions Is it a big deal, or isn't it?

And because you haven't found a clear answer...
you avoid.

You turn down invitations, or stop dating, or tell yourself you never really liked going to those types of parties anyway.

But in the long run, you realize this solution doesn't really work because you have to avoid more and more situations to feel okay.

And even so, it doesn't fully work. You still get triggered.
But now life has become smaller and smaller.

I get it.

Most trauma survivors feel out of control when they get triggered, pulled between their rational brain and their emotional state.

This misalignment is confusing at best, painful as hell at worst.

Here's the thing - the emotional, triggered part of you is a younger, traumatized part that is reacting to the present moment as if it's a trauma, when it isn't.

And that part doesn't respond to logic.

And no matter how much you logic your way through it, it won't calm down, because that's not how this part communicates!

In this workshop, you will learn how to communicate with the part of you that gets triggered, so you can feel in control, experience more peace, and feel more aligned.

Welcome. I got you.

Disclaimer: I want to make one thing perfectly clear. The goal of this workshop is not to completely heal your trauma. (And if anyone claims they can do so in 90 minutes or less, you should run very fast in the other direction.)

Let’s face it, it takes time and effort to eradicate our reactions that stem from trauma. But part of healing is learning to change your relationship to your triggers, so you can operate your life from the driver’s seat as opposed to being yanked around by what happened to you in the past.

"Working with Claire so far has been amazing. She helped me establish simple routines that make work less overwhelming and bring more balance to my life. She taught me to be kinder to myself, pausing to breathe and refocus instead of judging my distractibility or pushing through alone. Through her guidance, I’ve learned to view my past as a source of strength, noticing old coping patterns and choosing healthier responses. Finally, Claire’s support encouraged me to be more open, deepening my relationships by prompting me to ask for help sooner and feel genuinely understood."

"Claire is an exceptionally wise and gentle guide. Working with her was like finding safe harbor in a terrible storm: in the midst of a traumatic family event I found deep and grounding support, the kind that helped me to truly contend with the event. Her support during that period was transformative in my experience of the trauma and myself and my family are all far better off for it. I am so grateful to Claire for this gift of light in the darkness."

"Claire has been instrumental in helping me in many situations over the past 10 years. From work relationships, dealing with a family drug addiction, and my own negative thoughts of self worth and hopelessness. Each time I have met with Claire, I leave our meetings with clarity and hope. Claire always has wonderful book recommendations and advice that awaken me to what I don't always see on my own. I am so grateful to have worked with Claire."

The Agenda

What we'll do together in this 90 minute workshop:

**This workshop will contain no trauma processing or discussion of trauma details. We will stay focused on empowering you in the present**

Part 1
What is Happening?

settings
1
Trauma survivors often feel out of control when they get triggered, sometimes feeling like they're "going crazy," not understanding why their reactions.

In this section, you will learn some (surprising) reasons why triggers happen, gain a better understanding of what your "web" of reactions look like, leaving you more empowered and in control.

Part 2
What Should I Do?

settings
2
If you don’t know WHAT to do when you get triggered, your body will continue to go into fight, flight, freeze, or fawn.

Here, you will learn tangible skills to increase your ability to react without going into survival mode, so you can better cope before, during, and after a trigger.

Part 3
How Do I Change?

settings
3
You hate getting triggered. Like many folks I've worked with, perhaps you also hate your reactions, the conflict that gets stirred up, and feeling out of control. This frustration builds, and starts to influence how you feel about yourself, chipping away at your self-esteem.

And that’s one of the hardest parts of dealing with triggers generally, because it’s painful to not feel aligned with your reactions.

In Part 3, we work to fundamentally alter the way you view your triggers (and yourself), so that you will be able to move through this with more control and compassion.

Come for the content, stay for the support, inspiration, and compassion.

I had the wonderful privilege of working with Dr. Claire Dowdle Cina while creating boundaries with family, dealing with anxious attachment, and finding better coping mechanisms for my sobriety. Dr. Cina was instantly disarming, wildly validating, and a reassuring guide who supported me through some of the darkest times. She provides a judgement free zone where you can feel safe in your vulnerability. Dr. Cina helps to build up your confidence and alleviate feelings of imposter syndrome. She will equip you with not only the tools for your recovery but the science behind the way we behave the way we do to achieve better compassion for ourselves in the process. I value the support I received from Dr. Cina and know that I have a place to return to for maintenance and emergencies. Thank you!"

"Working with Claire has changed my life. Through our work together, I've developed a much better sense of self-awareness, compassion and confidence. She brings a unique depth of wisdom to therapy that blends traditional tools with more expansive, forward-thinking perspectives, which has had transformative results for me. Importantly, unlike therapists I've worked with in the past, she won't just sit there and nod and smile - she'll challenge you, hold a mirror and lovingly call you out when you're getting in your own way. That kind of honesty, paired with real compassion, is rare and exactly what I needed to grow.""

Today, my relationships are deeper and more authentic. I feel grounded, empowered, and capable of creating the kind of life I once only hoped for. Becoming a mom with this new mindset feels like the greatest gift and I know it wouldn't be possible without the work I did in therapy."

"There were many times where I would share something with Claire, totally unsure of what her reaction would be, kind of scared to be honest, and she would come back with a completely rational and comforting response. It made me feel like there was zero judgment, simply, just someone there to help you. I really appreciated Claire's patience, without pushing too hard, letting me get to a place where I felt comfortable sharing."
